A Good Loop
I’m in a good loop! It happens sometimes.
Here is what’s working about this loop:
Not using my phone⌗
Not using my phone makes a huge difference.
I often get addicted to one thing. Last time, it was YouTube. I couldn’t stop watching YouTube videos, and it was making me miserable.
I am using an app to block my web browser altogether. It turns out that using my computer to browse the internet is enough.
At least, when I’m at home and not in another country, it’s enough!
Going to bed early⌗
I feel better when sleeping in the night and going to sleep earlier.
I have a sense of a day well done.
I started taking Melatonin at midnight, but that was too late.
Then, I started taking it at 22:00. That’s enough for me to go to bed at midnight, and wake up at 12:00
I will try to take it at 11:00, go to sleep at midnight, and I hope I will wake up around 11:00.
Waking up before 12:00 would be a big win for me.
Doing one good thing per day⌗
I am more aware of the wins I make each day, both for my freelancing gig, and my company.
I put small tasks in a todo-list (by the way, this is becoming a problem, since I don’t do the small tasks).
I just like knowing that all the tasks I need to do are inside my todo-list. Yes, I am not doing them all. But at least, they are ordered !
Focusing deep into some subjects⌗
I am going deep into some work, instead of having tons of shallow work.
This is because I spend less time on YouTube. That’s better!
Doing my Beeminder chores early⌗
… instead of doing them at 2am
Going outside⌗
I am going outside every day to see some sunlight.
I even do jogging now! It’s still small, but I can see the small improvements I get every day. I don’t get tired as much when running. I get a sense of accomplishment from this.
Meditating⌗
I read a book about neurology&meditation. Since then, I started meditating a bit sometimes.
Now, I meditate every day. I believe that it helps me make healthier choice
Cleaning my room⌗
I clean my room every day in the evening.
I did one big cleaning one day, and since then, every day, I pick one small thing I want to make better.
After this one small thing, I often pick another small thing… And now, my room looks really clean
Making music⌗
I picked music again. I am using my OP-Z to make small songs.
I feel relaxed and ready to go to sleep, afterwards
What’s left: starting my day⌗
I don’t have yet a good morning routine.
I need to find a balance between: “opening my laptop” and “going outside, taking breakfast, meditating”.
I don’t know how to start the day, and when.
So… Let me take a decision right now. I will start my day every day at 12:00 MAX, by dressing up.
I am setting up the alarm… done!
Long ass post⌗
That’s all. I’m quite happy these days, even though I’m still heartbroken by my recent one-way love story.
I don’t want to fall in love again. I want to be in a loop where I am happy.
I found out that routine is not so bad if there is a perspective of adventure in the future. I am trying to get to the best routine possible where I live, and when I travel, I will try to make it survive and adapt it as much as possible.
